Dealing With The Loss Of A Boyfriend

Are you in pain or do you know someone who has just lost a boyfriend? Well this is a painful situation to be in. It takes a lot of self encouragement and some encouragement words from your friends and loved ones.

Most people do not realise the phases that a grieving person goes through. Let me share some of those feelings – By reading these I hope you will be more aware and will be able to know how to handle each phase.

Disbelief

Disbelief is the first feeling that comes when you are told about some bad news especially the loss of someone you love. This is made worse by the fact that you may have just seen your boyfriend or just talked to him over the phone. This initial feeling may last for a couple of hours and sometimes days. In most occasions it lasts up to the day of the funeral.

Shock

Seeing or hearing news about the death can be quite shocking. In most cases this happens at the funeral after reality strikes. This is when you start to take in as reality gives you no choice but face what has happened. Compared to the other emotions, it is easy to get through this one.

Anger

Anger comes in different forms i.e. you can be angry at yourself, the world or the person who was there when your boyfriend died. If you do not properly manage anger, it can get really destructive. Guide your words, thoughts and actions at this time. Look into the internet for some daily words of encouragement to help you cope.

Pain

Pain is tormenting and longer lasting. It required you to constantly hear some words of encouragement. Pain is deadly. I mean it just sticks in there and does not seem to ever end. Although it may take longer but eventually it dies. I don’t mean to say you forget what happened but you simply are able to live without feeling bad all the time.

Pain comes with helplessness and sometimes regret. No matter what you go through, no matter the years you spend grieving, the pain due to the loss of your boyfriend does go away eventually.
